What happened to Nicholas Cage????!!!!!

Honestly, this is one of the greatest acting performances of all time, he is truly spectacular in this, I don't think anybody could have perfected the role like he did. I also recently watched Matchstick Men where he was also good..

So what happened? Why the waste of such great talent on trash like GhostRider? Either he insists on turning down challenging roles or all the directors overlook him, yet the talent is obvious, it's sad to see really...I think we as an audience missed out, and could/should have seen many more great performances from him.

I haven't seen all of his films but in my opinion this was his last best work, at least thus far, and perhaps the best of his career.

Top 5 best roles
1. Charlie Kaufman/Donald Kaufman - Adaptation (2002)
2. Ben Sanderson - Leaving Las Vegas (1995)
3. Peter Loew - Vampire's Kiss (1988)
4. H.I. McDunnough - Raising Arizona (1987)
5. Sailor Ripley - Wild at Heart (1990)

Difficult task. Hated having to exclude Ronny Cammareri - Moonstruck (1987). Also loved his work in Honeymoon in Vegas and Face/Off.

Given that he made Amos and Andrew after he'd already made Vampire's Kiss, have things ever changed that much?

The big money lies in action films...so I suppose that's why he's done so many. I'd like to see him do some more creative roles. When the material is good, he really shines.

Just forget you ever saw it. It's better that way.
