why did this film anger me?

the whole "bee scene" in the beginning of the film really annoyed me. it was almost as if it was saying that black people are taking full advantage of that situation and there was nothing that the white man can do about it. did this bother anybody else or am i just taking lawrence's "comedy" too much to heart?

It's showing you a particular fictional character, not making statements about a broader, more universal type in the actual world. Jumping to the conclusion you're jumping to is an example of the fallacy of "hasty generalization".

yep i didn't like it either. had nothing to do with black or white, but it made me mad that an innocent guy was going through hell, and martin's character kept lying about getting hit.

So for once they show something from a white persons point of view and its racist? It was refreshing to see in a good film with relatively good actors the concept of reverse racism. Of course... this thread kinda highlights it too.

There are probably innocent cops in jail because a pissed off black suspect falsely accused them of brutality.
