Crisis just destroyed Smallville

SPOILERS!!! It was great to see Tom again, but for 10 seasons they built up how he would be the greatest hero ever. So he spent roughly 5 or six years as Superman and then just gave it up.... What a horrible way to epilogue the series

reply

That's the way Tom wanted it. From what I've read, it was that aspect that convinced him to make the appearance.

reply

Character wise it didn't make much sense.Since when does Clark need to give up his powers to be a Father or husband. And wouldn't his kids be half Kryptonian and also have powers.

reply

Probably not if he gave up the Powers before having the kids with Lois.

reply

Even if he gave up his powers, he would still be kryptonian genetically and his kids would be half as well.

reply

I guess if he still had the powers the temptation to intervene everytime there is a danger would be too strong

reply

I don't think the show ruined anything. Crisis's takes place years after Smallville went off the air, and from what I've read it's exactly 20 years that Clark spent protecting the world as Superman in that universe before stepping down. That sounds just fine to me.

The only thing I didn't like about the episode was no Michael Rosenbaum Lex appearance.

reply

He's the "Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow" superman just as Routh was the "Kingdom Come" Superman.
