Anyone else can't stand these russian theme songs?

The smartest anime series, but terrible 1st season opening (worst opening I've seen so far) and of course worst idea including russian songs (for what reason??).

Is it just me?

I dont know if its JUST you but it certainly isnt US as i for one love both opening songs. They find heavy rotation even to this day in my music collection, particularly in my car. (inner universe in particular, the opening beats of that song will shake the mirrors of the cars around me when i'm really jamming. But my stereo is worth more than my car so, most songs will do that lol)

The melding of languages i feel really works, particularly in Rise, though the translation from russian to english makes me glad its in russian. But maybe my love of Rise comes from having been a soldier. Great lyric "we are soldiers stand or die". (its just a better idea than 'get rich or die tryin' IMO)

So feel free to skip the intro songs, but i for one will listen to them every time and the only other show i can say that about is Firefly.

Japanese is a really good language for singing and songs, although I hate what they do sometimes, when it comes to words like 'motto' - they sing it as 'moooooooooo-to', deleting the other 't' completely, it's such a typical trope, it makes my ears vomit.

However, I don't get why anime often uses some other languages - I watch japanese things to hear japanese language, not to hear some awful russian singing (no offence, but the singing is horrible in this intro) - if I want to listen to a russian or german song, I can listen to russian or german music.

When I watch japanese TV shows and such, I kinda expect to hear JAPANESE sounds and songs, vocals and singing, so it's kind of disturbing and shocking to be forced to listen to a language I did not select.

The 'terrible J-pop' is actually really good, if you give it a chance. There are GREAT anime openings that have immense energy and great singing in japanese, so I don't get what someone here has against japanese music, must be racist or something.
