Wanted a Direct Sequel Badly

When I first saw this movie, I loved it and watching it again I still dig it. However, I still wanted a direct sequel to it. However, I got confused when Land of the Dead came out, thinking it was a sequel that picked up where Dawn left off. That was a big mistake, because Land is nothing like Dawn in terms of tone, story, or quality. I also really enjoy the original Dawn, but Romero from Land onward sucked.

Judging by this movie's ending there wouldn't have been any survivors to have a sequel.

True, but I would have been fine with following another group that knew the former one or were in some way related as long as it had the same tone and style. Hopefully, one or two persons survived from the original group.

I see. Which members of the original group would you have wanted to survive?

Probably Ving Rhames and maybe the young security guard? I just never really liked Sarah Polley's character and the young girl I thought was pretty dumb? Are you of similar thought or did you think a sequel was unnecessary?

SARAH POLLEY🥰

Ving Rhames character seemed like a tough dude to kill (or be transformed into the undead) so I could see him surviving. I didn't mind Sarah Polley's character but the young girl and her obsession over that dog got on my nerves. I get that what happened to her dad made her form an attachment to the dog but things went to hell because of it.

I never gave much thought to a sequel until I read your post, but it would've been interesting. Especially if they added new characters. Hopefully no one as douchey as Ty Burrell's character. Couldn't stand that guy. Even in the classic "love to hate him" way.
