So was Amanda Heard gang raped by blacks at the bar?

And if so, isn't it unrealistic to believe that she would be "in the mood" to be intimate with Johnny Depp so soon after such an experience?

In the book she was kept against her will and gang-raped.

Also, (I think) Johnny Depp etc went to look for her the next day and they couldn't find her and no-one would tell them anything.

Eventually she was let go and came back to the Depp character.

reply

Well if she was gangraped by them blacks then it's really weird she recovered so quickly.

I haven't seen this movie yet, but isn't it supposed to be a comedy?

That's....not very funny.

ever hear of black comedy? Anyway, I would probably paint it more as a humourous drama myself.

Short answer: YES

Long answer: you can read it yourself in the whole book

In the book they totally undressed her, then they took her naked and drunk in a separate place. Kemp and the others cannot find her anywhere.

When she gets back some days later, she looks haggard, dirty and half crazy.

In the movie it's less obvious, but if you look closely, actually it is.

Don't be silly. The production crew, Heard's staff, director, set security people, all these would help protect Ms. Heard from those "blacks".

You're talking as if this was real life and not a movie. It was a movie. There is all sort of staff around and lots of controls going on, no matter how in-the-mood those "blacks" might have been. Besides, who's going to instigate a gang rape of the leading lady with all those cameras around and rolling?

Yes.

No one by that name in the cast to have been subjected to pleasure so dubious to begin with.

reply

The answer to the OP's question is yes. This isn't the type of film where gang rape is depicted.

Also, at least four days pass in the book in-between her bar experience and when she makes love to Johnny Depp's character. The movie was rushed and played fast and loose with time. Her "lady parts" would be recovered by then unless it was a particularly brutal rape, and those details are left up to interpretation in the book as well.

reply

So because she was implied to have participated in a "Mandingo party" you're saying it's unrealistic that she would be satisfied by Johnny Depp's character after the fact? That's terrible

reply

Well they said rape, not participate.
