Shouldn't Rapunzel have a British accent?

Watching Tangled just now, it struck me for the first time that Gothel has a 'British' accent (as a Brit, I can confirm that there is no single "British accent", but I'll leave it at that for argument's sake). If Rapunzel has never left the tower and therefore probably learnt English from her mother, shouldn't she have picked up her mother's accent? I know there are many unrealistic things that happen in this film, but this one fascinates me. Any theories?

I wish they didn't cast names, even just one (least they didn't put the stars names over the title..y'know, like in: "Mandy Moore is TANGLED"...you didn't see, just keeping in the Disney arena, "Pinto Colvig is Goofy" in (pick 1930s-50s cartoon) and at other studios, "Jack mercer is Popeye in.." at Famous/Paramount/Harveytoons, or at Warners, "Mel Blanc is BUGS BUNNY in.." :blah:)

Whilst Disney used stars in Jungle Book (1967), Alice in Wonderland (1951), FEW of these would be known and they were old time radio stars, even if their voices there predated their cartoons (unlike Mel Blanc, Bill Thompson-"Droopy',(anonymously heard),Disney's own part time credited mushmouth characters, etc. who were for hire on radio then got celebrity status in animation, and the likes of Jerry Colonna on the 1951 Alice and Sebastian Cabot in 1967's Jungle Book also did do other kinds of voices-Mr.Cabot in his very first Disney cartoon, 1963's ill-remembered "Sword in the Stone", narrates the open in addition to doing the light accented, "Transatlantic" Sir Ecotr).

However the usa of stars, even credited, can be a good thing (Pixar, that upcoming csanine Wes Anderson Movie out of Fox, but thatr's due to the specific stars.) Mandy Moore is a fine recording artists, but going by the ads, I didn't even catch on..(same with even the usually recognizabvle Taylor Swift a few years later in Universal/Illumination's "The Lorax..:rolleyesd:)
