yea, just wonderin how many of yall hate rap but are fans of this show??

This thread is hilarious! As someone already pointed out...

Rap is a vocal style used in Hip Hop.

Rap isn't a genre, it's something that's within the genre of Hip Hop. I could understand someone saying "I prefer Non-mainstrem Hip Hop to Mainstream Hip Hop" but saying "I like Hip Hop, but not rap!" is ridiculous.

With that being said, I listen to almost every genre, including Hip Hop.

Champloo's music is awful, but i still love the show. The beatboxing was particularly cringeworthy.

I'm not a rap fan, but this series is awesome. And its music in this case makes the tone of the show even more original/special - so here I liked it. I wouldn't listen it just for the enjoyment of music, though.

some of these posts are quite funny. People, rap is a part of hip-hop. Everyone here seems to think that rap and hip hop are two different genres. There is gangsta rap, yes, and garbage modern mainstream rap, but rap is a part of hip hop. Without rap there is no hip hop.

Love Champloo hate Hip Hop. I think it's terrible for the most part well at least the newer stuff that I hear in pssing cars and weight rooms and on college radio. I don't mind some of the music but I've always been a Rock N' Roll, Blues, Jazz, Bluegrass, with SOME country, kind of person myself.

I hate rap/hip-hop and I loved this show. Wasn't sure about it the first episode, but by the end of it, I wanted to keep watching. Can't say I really care for the opening theme, either (which I know is going against the majority of this board).
