Jodie Whittaker is the WORST Doctor Who

Whittaker is the worst simply for bad acting, apeing 10's and 11's styles with having no discernible identity of her own, and just generally cringe expressions a lot of the time, and the rainbow stripe costume does her no favours.

Colin Baker used to get the shaft for bad acting and bad costume, but I'd say that he is a Shakespearean-class actor next to her, especially with his Big Finish redemption.

I'm not keen on Whittaker either, but it's hard to say how much of it is her and how much of it is being miscast in the role.

I think she gets the bits where she's meant to be jovial, or slightly eccentric right. And plays the part of an ensemble cast well. But she doesn't have the gravitas when she has to get angry or threaten the enemies. When Matt Smith lost his temper, for example, it was like Wow! What's he going to do? You felt he meant it. Jodie comes across as a bit whiney.

Chris Chibnall's writing doesn't help though. I'm struggling to think of one strong episode since he became showrunner.

Yeah this.

Series 11 for me did no favours as 13 seemed to be just bubbly, a mix of 10 and 11 without her own style. Apparently Jodie wanted to put her own spin on the character but wasn't allowed to for her first series.

Series 12 did show her different sides. Problem is I feel like 13 was never allowed to shine, often in the background. The whole fam concept really hindered 13. Too many companions meant she often never took centre stage.

It took me 2 full series to properly get that doctor moment yet when the Ruth doctor was revealed she was the doctor instantly, commanding the room and being the centre. I don't think she'll be 14 which is such a shame as I feel she could be one of the better doctors

I think it's the writing and I'm wondering if this cycle of Dr Who is just about played out. It reminds me of Sylvester McCoy's time in the TARDIS. The last series I watched had a huge amount of running about desperately trying to pump some energy in to it all but it was barely worth the effort as far as I was concerned.

Jodi was never the Doctor, she was the NURSE.

That's rather old fashioned, isn't it, GK? I mean, I've frequently watched both British BBC shows about hospitals, Casualty and Holby City, and while nurses are featured in their signature scrubs, female doctors are also shown in similar scrubs, too. If anything, I've found it hard to tell them apart.

I think its more that she isn't up to the task, she's not that high level, she's no doctor, she's a nurse. she's not the main leader, she's a secondary follower. could be sexists meh IDC. but its true

I like her as Doctor Who but I think the writing for her character has been the worst of any of the Doctor Who's. I just don't really care about any of the stroylines. I liked the special from a few months ago but other than that I haven't really enjoyed her run. I'm glad they're getting a different showrunner for the next doctor.

Agreed. But I'm not sure that even the return of Russell T Davies can boost the show again.
