So why did they portray him like some Trump-like entitled rich asshole in this (i.e. "I take that back. This is a shithole").

But Sivana is smart. He's a genius. He isn't a dumbass like Trump.

He WAS smart in this movie - just obsessively focused on his one goal of controlling all the magic "paor"

He was a "doctor," so he was at least smart enough to get a Ph.D. or M.D.
