This week's PC episode is not a good sign

"Mac finds his pride". The episode was good, done very well, but it shouldn't have been on this show. This would have been very powerful on a drama/comedy type show, but felt so out of place on show that has always poked fun at political correctness. I really can't think of another always sunny episode that tried to be so somber and serious without any punchline at the end to lighten the show. They have tackled abortion, politics, incest, immigration...a ton of very serious topics with a snarky and hysterical lack of care on whether it offended anyone. Its unfortunate they feel they gay pride movement should completely change the tone from every other episode. I hope this isn't a new trend. Don't get me wrong, it was written well and was a strong message, it just doesn't fit on this series.

Agreed. At the end everyone should have booed him off the stage and started throwing things. It would have been more in tune with the show. Like in the bathroom episode earlier in the season when Dee said something inspiring and everyone told her to shut the #@@ up after.

I did think that was going to happen and would've been fine with it.

Weird ep. And it was the finale too. I didn't find it much of PC agenda commentary. I didn't like it. Mac felt out of character right from his first delivered line about the door being open. I actually expected it to end with something horrible like Mac's dad coming out and shiving his son while the woman gets gang raped. I certainly appreciate all the work Rob put into this dance number, but this could have been packaged with some Paddy's sendup of Dancing With the Stars more in line with the show's usual routine. This is a weird show now. All long running shows get weird. Mac's still not gay in my universe. I really don't care.

You can be gay and funny though. It doesn't always have to end up with a bunch of shirtless dancing.

It was horrible, not funny at all and like the OP said so 'out of place' in this show that it felt like a whole different thing and that in a season finale?

I agree for the most part, especially that ending (ugh), but at least there was some humor. You can never go wrong with Mac's dad. A plus that both him and Danny DeVito were in the same scenes.

They need to tone it down a bit with Frank. Last episode he couldn't pass a kidney stone, and in "Mac Finds His Pride", he was plugging up some old cut to the point where his entire face was infected. It started reminding me of the seventh season in which The Gang went out of their way to include as much gore as possible.

"IASiP" has been hit-and-miss for quite some time. If they decided to end it tomorrow, I wouldn't be shocked. The quality was better when this was Charlie, Glenn, Rob, and Kaitlin's sole focus.

I realized when watching the ep again that as Mac's dad walks away, Frank finally gets it. Implying that Mac has acquired Frank as a father figure, basically making Frank the dad of the whole gang.
