Just stay with it

When I started watching it I didn't see what the big fuss was about it, the jokes were not clever and pretty obvious in the set ups, I was thinking what the heck, serious 1 for me was very underwhelming, then got to the episode with the gay musical and haven't looked backed since , the dinner party episode aswell was genius , so just abit of advice to people who want to give up on it, stay with it until series 2 it's worth it, I'm on my 4th re run now

First episode was okay, but it really took off in episodes 2 and 3, and just kept going.

You’re pretty much spot on. I’m watching it now for the first time.

S1 had a couple really funny gags, but overall it seemed very…childish? (and a little too Roy-heavy). But S2 is basically The Moss Show (a good thing). The cast is much more out and about just doing random things about the city. They also introduce Matt Berry in S2 who is simply fantastic. It plays more like Seinfeld now.

I’m still not sold on Roy, but I guess he’s necessary to the chemistry. Compared to the other characters he brings little to no laughs. But I guess he’s the “straight-man” to the other oddballs.

I would also urge people to check out Black Books, with Bill Bailey, Dylan Moran and Tamsin Greig. Similar type of humour, often quite strange and surreal, but always funny.
