Jennifer Garner overlooked

Yes MM and Leto were the stars in this film. Both of them were excellent.

Yet I feel Jennifer Garner was very great as well and definetely overlooked.

Her subtle, minimalistic acting (you could see her character struggling between her conscience and her duty as a doctor) stood out.

I think she did a great job and should have deserved a lot more praise.

Agreed, this movie made me love Jennifer Garner.

She's great in this movie.

She was the best in it for me. Don't get me wrong, MM was amazing and definitely deserved his oscar, Leto surprisingly (for me) was amazing as well but Garner took me completely by surprise. I thought she was terrific.

i saw the complete opposite. She can't act. She is good at playing roles like 13 going on 30 or whatever it is called. This movie would have been better with someone who could act in her role.

reply

She played her part well but she didnt deserve to be considered for awards.

reply

Even though her role wasn't complex she wasn't really convincing.

I thought she was the weak link in the movie almost to the point of ruining the movie.

Exactly. She really brought the movie down. The role wasn't written that well either to be honest, but her acting was truly astrocious. Hope no one considers casting her in a serious movie ever again.

Agreed, I loved Garner in this.

Jennifer Garner overlooked
Overlooked is the wrong word. Matthew McConaughey and Jared Leto literally transformed into their roles by losing 80 pounds between the two of them. Even half of that would be impressive.

Yes, she did well in the role, I'll agree to that. But overlooked? Maybe overshadowed… but even still, her performance was nowhere near as excellent or as difficult as McConaughey and Leto's.

Denis O'Hare and Steve Zahn are also always good in everything. Kudos to them too.

Jennifer Garner was robbed .... of a Razzie. Was she seriously not even considered? That was the worst acting I ever remember seeing in anything trying to be a quality movie. It was bizarre to see her interact with MM and JL. Almost every second with her was painful.

SUBTLE? MINIMALISTIC? She was woodenly overemoting over every single fart in the most ridiculous amateur fashion. "OMG!!!! Huch!!! What?!?!?!?! Your mother was a PAINTER?? Like she ... OMG .... don't tell me .... no it can't be .... yes, I thnk t might be true.... Did she paint THOSE FLOWERS?!?!?!?!" (That's the subtext she acted of course, not the text in the script) Effing embarrassing. Even her sucking on her finger was extremely unbelievable. All "I suck! I suck! I suck!" Well, she had a point there.

Yes. I loved her in this and I definitely think her character was necessary. She was vital to helping Ron evolve.
