I've only seen 34 so far, but out of the few I've seen...

1. The Wolf of Wall Street
2. The Place Beyond the Pines (I know imdb has this as 2012 but I don't follow imdb's way of deciding release dates... A couple of movie festival releases does not make the film a 2012 release!)
3. Before Midnight
4. Riddick
5. Gravity

and 6-10 because I feel like it...

6. Spring Breakers
7. Dallas Buyers Club
8. Drinking Buddies
9. Warm Bodies
10. Trance

Here is a complete rankings list of every movie I've seen in 2013.

As of right now..

1. The Wolf of Wall Street
2. Prisoners
3. Captain Phillips
4. Dallas Buyers Club
5. The Conjuring

12 Years a Slave is overrated and everyone is afraid to criticize it and be deemed a "racist" for it in this sensitive world.

reply

1) Prisoners
2) Django Unchained (technically released here in the UK in 2013)
3) Side Effects (this is very underrated)
4) The Conjuring
5) The World's End

and if you want my Top Ten..

6) The Hunger Games: Catching Fire
7) World War Z
8) The Wolverine (hands down the best superhero movie of the year)
9) The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug
10) Monsters University (how did this not get an Oscar nomination for Animation?!)

I'm still yet to see Captain Phillips which I think could make it into my Top Ten. I'm also still yet to see 12 Years A Slave but technically in the UK, it's a 2014 film.

Bruges is like a fairytale....:P

Side Effects IS underrated. First half is pretty tedious but man does that *beep* pick up in the second half.

reply

Glad you agree with me, but the first half isn't tedious at all - it's a big build up to what happens. Fantastic story, kept guessing the whole way through what was going to happen

Bruges is like a fairytale....:P

reply

We'll agree to disagree about that. I mean, obviously the start of the film is the "set up" for the rest of the film, but that doesn't mean it has to be slow and tedious. It was almost like the first and second half were two completely different movies. I didn't have much of a problem with it because the second half is a rush, but that's just my opinion.

I have not yet seen 12 Years a Slave, Rush, or Her.. and a few others. Also, Wolf of Wall street was quite boring.
