Season finale .. Episode10

The Cleons clashing was epic. Lee Pace as Brother Day is outstanding.

I was hoping Brother Day after the Spiral ordeal , would be clement and he was.

You can see Demerzel is surprised when Brother Day says : it’s time the Empire bent.

Brother Dusk is instead horrified.
As soon as the two Brothers start using their fists , Demerzel steps in and kills Brother Dawn.

Halima was wrong .. having undergone the Spiral changed Brother Day .. having suffered for the first time in his life as a normal human being “humanised” him , he is definitely a changed man.

Demerzel was all for Halima who said The Cleons were stagnant cause their genetic pool lacked new blood.. she called Brother Day soulless.

Demerzel must have been secretly proud of Brother Day’s unexpected decision.

He lied about the vision but nevertheless doing the Spiral did have a beneficial effect on his persona…and this Demerzel could only have been happy to witness.

Unfortunately, Brother Dusk ruins everything by being short sighted and not realising that remaining intransigent in their ways will be their true downfall.

Demerzel has no choice but to kill Brother Dawn to stop the violent spat between the other two Cleon Brothers

Brother Day’s path changing decision was the right one , it represented a dim light of hope for the dying Dynasty .. sadly Brother Dusk “sabotaged “ it.

I would have loved to see how the two Cleon Brothers went from there sadly though we get a time jump of 130 odd years.

Interesting that out of all the shit in the series we keep talking about the dynasty lol

It’s the only part of the series that I find engaging.. the other storylines are just fillers for me.

reply

Well, every time Jared Harris is on screen the retarded Mother and Daughter Terminus side-story becomes... tolerable.

@ to Alex.

Actually I just focus on him.

I first saw Jared Harris in “The Terror” he was terrific.

Soon after I enjoyed him in the mini serie “To the Ends of the Earth “2005 . He played a captain there too.

And then I got my hands on
“ B.Monkey” 1998 from amazon.uk.

Jared is a very versatile actor.

Did you see Harris in Chernobyl?

Did you see Harris in Chernobyl?

@ Yes I did .. Harris and Stellan Skarsgård were amazing.

I was interested in the topic too.

I remember when it happened ..I was in my late teens and authorities on the radio advised us about the toxic cloud that was heading towards Europe

..it passed over North Italy and we were told not to consume garden vegetables and to stay indoors.

I shuddered seeing what really was happening in those first days when Russian authorities were initially trying to keep everything under wraps and then minimising the incident..

This is how the radio active cloud moved.

I love that they're all fucked up. The change has been going on a while. Nobody has a right head and now they know it.

@. I love drama, turmoil too. 😋

From Dusk’s point of view, Dawn definitely was fucked up and had to be destroyed.

When Day said “it’s time the Empire bent a bit” and decided he wanted to save Dawn, Dusk not only went ballistic , he actually shouted he would have preferred to replace Day with a new one rather than accept such a choice.

To put an end to the fight , Demerzel killed Dawn. Dusk forced her hand.

Knowing that also Day’s genetic pool has been tampered with , I can see Dusk wanting to eliminate also Day now.

Most probably, Dusk is the only one that is a true copy of the original.

I think having been altered is actually the best thing that happened to the Cleon dynasty.

Day definitely changed after he did the Spirale .. he experienced an act of compassion and after showed compassion towards the old guy that had helped and encouraged him earlier.

He also wanted to save Dawn .

So at least for Day it was a positive thing to have had his genetic pool altered.

Dawn unfortunately lived it as a curse . He passed his whole child / teen hood observing his two brothers in the hope to hide his faults.

And yet , he was the only one that fell in love which I feel was a positive thing.

Dusk’s intransigence will be the Empire’s ruin.

Put aside religion and maths , Halima and Seldon were right .. the Cleons for 400 years have come from the same genetic pool .. they are just copies unable to evolve / adjust.

We know that the Empire is doomed but compromised Day might be able to slow down the inevitable and eventually make the end/fall less bitter, less bloody.. etc.

We saw that the narrative made a 138 year leap in the future …does that mean we won’t get to see what happened between Day and Dusk. ?

that’s the part I was dying to see /play out.

We still can see what happened between those two.. Day and Dusk. The TV series utilizes a lot of flashbacks, so they can always rewind to some key moments of the aftermath of Demerzel killing Dawn before them. I would like to have seen how Dusk reacts knowing that Day was also "compromised".

Not to mention if it's worth mentioning if Azure ever escaped her fate :(

I don't know how many seasons are in the works, but I do hope we can FF 500 years or so to when the empire falls, and Trantor is destroyed, as predicted in Salis' model.

@ to actmondual.

I hope you are right , I ‘m curious to see how matters unfold between Dusk and Day.

I definitely need to watch season 1 again before the new season.

The only storyline that excites me is the Cleon one.

Unfortunately, characters Gaal and Salvor remind me too much of annoying Michael Burnham in ST: Discovery which I stopped watching after season 2.

Heh.. I'm the oddball on the internet. While I dig the Cleon arc, I'm also very curious to see how the Foundation progresses, and what the hell is going to go on between Gaal and Salvor.
