How the hell do 'poor' people get so fat?

Not only in this movie, but everywhere. I see it every day... huge obese women carting huge obese children to the welfare office. Getting and staying that fat has got to cost a fortune.

How? Because you are a retard.

I have a better question for you. WHY do RICH people get fat???

They have money, personal trainers, access to doctors, to chefs, they can buy the best food in the market, they can even get surgery.

Yet some of Hollywood's biggest stars are fat, how does that make any sense?

right....

Everything Precious ate was fried. Frying food is a way to inject taste into poor quality produce and it's sure to make a person fat.

I give my respect to those who have earned it; to everyone else, I'm civil.

That's a easy question to answer. It's cheaper to eat junk food than the good stuff also it's easier and faster too. When your funds are low you use food as a reward cause that's all you have! It's a terrible habit to get into but I understand.

Eating healthy is expensive, I could cut my grocery bill in half if I shopped more for the processed cheap foods and ate more fast foods.

I'm sure there has already been many answers similar to this, but poor people can't exactly afford very nutritious foods. Their diet is filled with a lot of filling, easy, extremely fattening and unhealthy foods.

It seems counter to what you would expect, but it's not unusual for poor people to be tubs.

I knew one extremely poor mother-daughter pair where the daughter was morbidly obese (but still functioning just like Precious). First time I met them I was like damn.. how do you even get that fat when you've grown up poor? Well guess what, I got to know them and I found out just what it was. The little girl had grown up until about age 5 not eating too much. When she was 5, her mother won some money in an insurance thing and then all of a sudden they always had food in the house.. for about 3 years. During this time, the girl had this mentality of "I have to eat everything in sight because I don't know when my next meal might be". That right there is it... also food is relatively inexpensive especially the unhealthy stuff. American McDonalds has a huge dollar menu full of fat-filled burgers all for a dollar or less... then you have the audacity to ask how poor people are fat... lol
