How the hell do 'poor' people get so fat?

Not only in this movie, but everywhere. I see it every day... huge obese women carting huge obese children to the welfare office. Getting and staying that fat has got to cost a fortune.

The same way ignorant, insensitive, unintelligible jackasses find their way into intelligent forums of discussion, not just here but everywhere.

Ignorance doesn't know its ignorant. Even worse than that, its always talking... Loud! *Sigh*...Let us pray....

Junk food in the States is so cheap, and when you're poor, that's all you can afford. Organic food costs way more, but if someone really wants to eat healthy, they can find a way. It's sad though that restaurants charge more for a salad than for a cheeseburger.

If you can't beat them, arrange to have them beatenī†

The same way Donald Trump got fat. Eating more than exercising. Fat is not discriminatory. Everyone can get fat. Rich people can hide it better through lipo, trainers and plastic surgery.

Fat people aren't everywhere. You just notice them more. People notice more of what they don't like. You look in any crowd just about anywhere, you'll see mostly regular sized people and some fat ones.

Also you see more people drinking, doing drugs, smoking, etc. So why wouldn't people be medicating themselves with food as well? What is it with people these days that expect everybody to be a perfect specimen of humanity? I'm not fat, b but I've got my own problems to deal with so I'm not obsessed with other people's looks.

You guy all all out of your minds. It's MUCH cheaper to eat healthy if you learn about nutrition and you know how to buy food.

A 20lb. bag of brown rice can be had for under $15.49. Same with a 20lb. bag of pinto beans, lintels $0.99lb. Fresh broccoli is less than $2.00lb., and most fresh vegetables are very inexpensive. I get boneless, skinless chicken breast for $1.99lb.. Canned tomatoes (you know, to make your own pasta sauce) $1.79 or less for a quart. I eat NO fast food, I'm not overweight and I can and do (on a daily basis) prepare delicious, health meals in 30 minutes or less.

1) Its a trait she inherited from her mother. (Whose also somewhat obese)

2) Pregnant twice

3) stressed and depressed left her relying on food for comfort.

4) Lack of excerises

5) Forced to cook and eat fatty oily foods with her mom.

1) Precious was pregnant (twice).
2) The mom did absolutely nothing but sit on the couch all day.
3) Whenever Precious ate, it was mostly unhealthy meals that were cooked with a large amount of fatty oil or Fast food (McDonald's). Lack of fruit and veggies.
4) Lack of exercise for both the mom and precious.
