Anyone notice the phenomenon where more and more news articles are putting spoilers right in their titles?
Spent maybe five minutes browsing the news this morning and came across TWO (2) different articles that put major spoilers for this episode right in their title.
*SPOILERS*!!!
"Now that the night king is dead" and "Does the knight king's death mean GoT has jumped the shark?"
So...not 24 hours after it aired, you'd better damn well hope you've already seen this episode before daring to look at the days' news. A little fuckered up. Especially considering how much time we've invested in the series thus far.
It used to be that they were relatively diligent about keeping their titles spoiler-free for at least a few days afterward, but my guess is that this etiquette is quickly losing ground in the battle for our clicks, which is...just so damn seedy, IMO. Just, seedy, greedy shit.
"Sorry to spoil how one of the two major plotlines in this series you've been watching for ten years plays out, but...you know, we like money, so...."
Anyone else notice this phenomenon? This occurring more frequently the last year or so? Makes me want to start a letter writing campaign or something...there's something so inherently wrong with this kind of stuff. What can you do, you know?
