shareI used to watch it when Bob Hope and Johnny Carson hosted. Then when it was people like Billy Crystal who were actually funny. The Oscars were always an inbred Hollywood popularity contest, but they had a bit of credibility. Now they're just an ideological virtue-signaling extravaganza with racial quotas and spoiled, clueless celebrities vying with one another to be the most woke. The entire thing has been reduced to a meaningless joke, which is reflected in the dying tv ratings.
