So another white man bad, woman strong, black man good interracial couple movie

Yawn, what a tired cliche.

Well, the main reason to do movies or TV these days is to check boxes. So, you have the white male as the "toxic masculinity" monster. The woman is the empowered hero. And, the African-American, gay, transgender, etc. supporting character is without flaws.

I didn't see it that way. The way they played it was probably the most straight forward way. White guy with a white girl is still the most common couple in the US. That's not a position or political statement, it's just the numbers. The tech billionaire white guy happened to be a controlling narcissist. Roll the dice, and your chances aren't bad. The black guy (just a friend, btw, not a romantic involvement) was just a casting choice. He was a good actor for the part, so was the little girl. It was believable. Our world will never get past racial/gender tension as long as they see every scenario as an SJW / anti-SJW setup.

I did not really get this reading, the black man was mostly a bystander in the whole situation, he really didn't do that much. So it's more like a white man vs white woman story in my view. And the cop just happened to be there, doing his job.

It’s not like you were totally wrong on the facts when you pointed this out. You’re just a jerk to start a thread about it.
