People really love the CGI

How can they stand its overuse in these movies?

reply

MCU fans have zero standards for super hero films.....you can literally ruin the character of Peter Parker and they will still cheer him on like morons.

reply

Tom Holland is a fantastic peter parker, read the comics , fantastic in NWH

reply

Getting his Aunt killed.....by being a wreck less little twerp.....is hardly fantastic.

reply

Are you seriuosly suggesting reading the modern MCU comics, the same comics that are so bad imported isekai anime is outselling it?

reply

The MCU sets the bar for superhero films remarkably high. Every film is different from every other, yet each is still unmistakably a Marvel film. They take a character like Spider-Man and put him on the screen in a way that feels like the comics you read as a kid come to life, and yet at the same time it feels grounded in reality. There's a reason they've achieved the unprecedented success they have, and have moved superheroes from the domain of only kids and nerds into the mainstream.

Nice one filmbuff took the words right out of my mouth

reply

No, the MCU Spider-Man isn’t even remotely grounded in reality lol.

Tom Holland who looks like a super model and gets suits made for him by a tech billionaire......also has a super hot Aunt and he easily gets any girl he wants with little effort....nor does he have any sense of responsibility as shield cleans up after him haha....his character is written piss poor.

reply

Yep

reply

Thank you!

reply

Because there is no other way for bringing those fantastic storylines to the movie screen, moron

reply

LOL. Try the Dark Knight MORON

reply

Wasn't Nolan's Batman nothing like the comicbook?

So anyway, how would you propose to do magic with practical effects?

reply

go to a prop department?

reply

So CGI is bad only in movies you dont like, but it was good in TDK?

reply

Most of TDK was not CGI. Spiderman was pretty much all CGI.

"Embracing the hyperrealism of his version of Batman, Nolan opted to do many of The Dark Knight’s biggest stunts practically rather than relying on CGI" - https://www.mentalfloss.com/article/503225/19-surprising-facts-about-dark-knight

Marvel puts tons of CGI in movies but not great acting or great narratives, plotting or dialogue. Cinematography feels shady too and basic editing at times is ignored.

Definitely pretty bad, even backgrounds that don't need to be cg they just make cg. Everything looks out of focus and overly vibrant. Dock Ock had some bad cg in this film that made him look goofy.

reply

This is one of my main problems with CGI/movies today. Everything is fake now… Even background trees for fucks sake.
I’m a huge fan of cinematography, so I liked it better when they “shot” a real scene & then enhance/added cgi to it.
But now the whole scene/sequence/shot is all on computer.

Same goes for close up shots. Which really bums me out… I love FX/props. Especially horror/monsters/gore fx etc.. Before, like say “Jurassic Park” they would use CGI for the full body &/or running shots of dinosaurs/monsters because that’s pretty hard to pull off with practical animatronics. Then the close up shots, like an eyeball, teeth, or headshot would always be a real prop. The combination of those two things would sell the whole look.

Today though every FX shot is pretty much on a computer. Which is lazy looking & making the whole shot/sequence look fake. And I hate it… I miss the days of real creative professional FX masters.

CG owns you

cringe

reply

Because despite some smoothbrains raging, modern CGI is actually good and enhances the movie.
