Never seen an episode yet I hate it.

I hate when things I don't care about get hyped and then people are like, "what?!?!? You haven't seen it?!?!?" If I cared, I would have seen it. I'm not going to give in just because of hype. People like this make me hate the show even though it's not the show's fault.

reply

I understand that feeling... even though I wanted to see it before the hype... but even I got a little annoyed over all the hype... And the show is nothing special... it is mediocre at best...

reply

It sucks how people make us hate things.

reply

I didn't know about the show until the hype. I've found a few good shows through word of mouth like Game of Thrones, Walking Dead(early seasons), and Big Bang Theory. And I spread the word, too.

Anyway, I enjoyed this show.

reply

I heard about it just before the hype. I didn't really care to check what it was about, but then when the hype came, I knew everything about it. It drives me insane.

reply

So ... just watch it, lol

reply

Nope. Not giving in.

reply

Why let that stuff get to you? Just enjoy life . . . Christ, lol

reply

Giving in would mean that I'm letting it get to me. So as I said, I'm not giving in to something I didn't care about before the hype.

reply

So if something is REALLY good you will refuse to watch it just because it's popular???

What stupid way of thinking is this???

reply

What makes you think was interested in it to begin with? The point of the post was that people make me hate things that are shoved down my throat. If I cared enough for the show, I'd watch it.

reply

My point is: you don't know if/that something is good so you are not interested in. Happens to all of us. I wasn't interested in it either.

But then it appears to be good enough. And you say "oh, even if it's good or even the best thing ever I still don' want to see it because fuck logic and I'm too stubborn". Ok, I get it.

reply

The subject matter doesn't interest me .
But with your logic, everyone should watch literally everything they lay their eyes on that got good reviews.

reply

"The subject matter doesn't interest me ." this is a valid point, with this I can agree and relate.

Well, I watched Queen's Gambit and I have no interest in chess. And I don't regret it a single second ...

No, not literally everything, but most likely I would be curious and I would give it a chance (at least one episode) since it got good reviews. There are NOT that many shows with really good reviews ...

reply

Under the: "MOST POPULAR TV ON RT", 7 of the 9 shows listed are an 89% or higher. All 9 are also fresh. There are a lot of good shows.

reply

That is exactly my thoughts. That would absolutely suck to be that kind of person. Weirdo!

reply

Right? There are enough things making our lives miserable, we don’t need to make it worse for ourselves over some stupid pride issues.

reply

This! Exactly this!! He must lead a very sad life, lol.

reply

What's sad is you saying he has a sad life because he doesn't want to watch a TV show! He needs to think and act like you apparently, to not have a sad life. SMH.

reply

Don’t shake your head too much.. you do NOT need any further damage.

reply

Yeah, I wouldn't want to give you any competition.....

reply

Jesus, Asom... do you really need to type the idiot "lol"?

reply

old school here ... I know times are changing but ... you don't teach old dogs new tricks.

reply

I'll say I definitely found it to be overrated.

It's an engaging, entertaining, well-crafted show, but it's not even the best Korean series I've watched in recent times (that would be Kingdom).

reply

Mr Sunshine ;)

I guess you haven't seen it.

reply

I can relate. I'm kind of the same way. If people tell me I "must" do something, then I'm more inclined to not do it.

reply

I don't mind someone telling me that I should check it out, but when they have this amazement that I haven't seen it, that's what I find annoying.

reply

I understand what you mean better. I have this friend who's been harassing me for YEARS to watch Game Of Thrones (yes I know I may very well have you too be like "You haven't watched GOT ?!?!").

I watched the entire first season and stopped there. Still I'm harassed to watch the whole fkn thing when I don't want to. The more I'm told to watch it the easier it is for me to look at him in the eye with a smile and calmly say: "No."

I'm only slightly exaggerating when I say that every time he's losing his mind, speaking acute gibberish while almost convulsing like an epileptic. To me it's satisfying, lol.

reply

All you need to know about Game Of Thrones is that they killed off the only likable character in the first season.

reply

That's good info to know. Thank you.

reply

Why can't people just let us watch what we want? And the worst part is that if we decide to give in and watch it, by t we don't like it, we're told how we are wrong. But if we like it, it's "I told you".

reply

" if we decide to give in and watch it, by t we don't like it, we're told how we are wrong."

Or worse... that our opinion was expressed in bad faith.

reply

PEOPLE WHO HAVEN'T SEEN THE OFFICE DON'T MAKE SENSE TO ME...OTHERWISE I DON'T MUCH CARE WHAT OTHERS HAVE SEEN OR WHAT KIND OF HYPE SOMETHING HAS...THATS SAID...MY DAUGHTER WATCHED THE SQUID GAMES SHOW...SHE LOVED IT.

reply

I don't care who watches what. Unless it's their diet. I'm very serious when it comes to being healthy.

reply

It's your loss I don't care if you don't see it

reply

Thank you for proving my point.

reply

Did you watch it though

reply

NO...I AM STILL MOSTLY FIGHTING THE STREAMING DEVIL...PHYSICAL MEDIA>STREAMING.

reply

I see. I gave up on physical about 7 years ago

reply

It's so freeing not to have shelves, drawers or space taken up by dvds or whatever physical media comes along. I had a whole bookcase dedicated to dvds which aren't worth anything and are terrible quality compared to HR, chucking it out was great.

reply

I feel the same way , i'll never watch this garbage.

reply

Watch one episode. Hate it or like it. Move on!
Now, you're just being ignorant.

reply

I won't , it's just another rip-off , nothing original

reply

Don't give up, dude. Life's what you make it.

reply

I watched it because I was bored, you're not missing anything. It's mostly just a bunch of annoying characters that you don't care about getting killed off. A "twist" that you see coming from a mile away. And the girl from the North that you kind of care about dying in an anti-climactic manner.

reply

Yeah, I've heard all of that. I don't know what the twist is, but I really don't care that I don't know.

reply

I'm not in as much of a "revolt" state, like you. But I won't watch it. I just don't care about that show. Seems like yet another variation of Battle Royal. The hype definitely won't make me watch it and I don't care if I miss out.

When I watched The Queen's Gambit, I did so because I like the actress and the picture gave me chess nostalgia (I actually restarted playing chess some time before even watching an episode). The hype did annoy me but I knew I'd still have watched it otherwise.

I guess what I'm trying to say is do what you want and screw the rest. This hype thing is like pollution impacting viewers choices and habits. F- that. Put on your gaz mask man ! and watch what you want ! ✊😄

reply

I don't mind The Queen's Gambit hype. The only hype I've heard was that it was good. They aren't some sick cult like the Squid Game fanatics.

reply

THE WORST ONE WAS GAME OF THRONES...THOSE FUCKERS ARE STILL JAWIN' ABOUT THAT SHIT.

reply

I wouldn't stop hearing about how bad the last season was.

reply

THAT IS ONE GENRE I DON'T GO FOR...SO I ONLY KNOW WHAT I HEAR...AND I DEFINITELY HEAR THAT THE LAST SEASON SUCKED OFTEN.

reply

I'm not a fan of period pieces or medieval stuff.

reply

YUP...THOSE ARE BOTH NO GOS FOR ME.

reply

Same same to both of you. GoT hype era was torture for me.
