I hate when things I don't care about get hyped and then people are like, "what?!?!? You haven't seen it?!?!?" If I cared, I would have seen it. I'm not going to give in just because of hype. People like this make me hate the show even though it's not the show's fault.
shareI feel that way about some hype trends. The hype itself repels me. I was intrigued about this one then resolved to not watch it then was exposed to an episode. I liked it. Watched the whole thing. Very well acted and directed. It hooks you. However, it is not the greatest thing ever. It merely shines more in this era of lousy film and TV. It is, above all else, a sad show. It will break your heart at times. Kinda depressing. But well done.
Not "must see" tv. Just better than the modern average and interesting.
I wasn't interested before the hype, but became even less interested after they hype.

I watched the whole 9 hours waiting for the moment it would show the brilliance the hype talks about.
I was sorely disappointed.
All this hype made it worse.
It would be more satisfying to just discover it and find it interesting on your own, but that ship has long sailed.
It's like when you discover a band and you love when no one else has heard of them. Then they start becoming popular and people start overgyping them.

shareOf course, whenever I decide to watch something it's based on wether or not watching it will give me any originality points. Then after watching it I never form an opinion of it before I've figured out which opinion will give me the most originality points. I'm kind of over enjoying stuff, I just want to increase my originality points.
shareI'm sort of the same way but decided to give this show a shot. It definitely draws you in but not anything I'd watch again.
