Thoughts about Josh Hartnetts character... (Spoilers)

I thought he was gonna save Statham at some point or vice versa but no they kill him off. Like he was gaining more confidence after seeing H do all that killing. It confused me because it seemed like they were building him up for something.

It did seem strange that not much was done with him. I actually didn't like that basically everyone was unceremoniously killed off at the end. It was underwhelming. Perhaps Ritchie wanted to defy expectations or something.

It also reminded me of Departed. Still, I thought that they said enough about Dave to get an idea. I mean, for me there are just handful of movies ( Heat, Revolver, WOM) THAT I WATCHED NUMEROUS TIMES BECAUSE I CRAVE TO UNDERSTAND EVERY WORD OF EVERY DIALOG. I LOVE IT)

It was a strange choice. Still not entirely sure how I feel about that decision. I wonder if there were any survivors in the original film.

Yes, that was surprising. This movie did not follow the general recipe in that aspect. Near the ending I was often like "Woah.." "Really ?" "Damn !"

It was indeed a little confusing to see Boy Sweat finally rise up to the occasion only to easily get killed. I would have liked him to be able to do more but that was part of the things that surprised me and kept me focused.... like "what other unexpected thing will happen next?".

reply

It's more realistic that way. He took chances he wouldn't have taken before, and paid the price.
