Why?
The original "Clerks" is the most overrated comedy in movie history, it's not funny in the least...Why would anybody want a sequel, let alone two?

After actually seeing Clerks 3, I wish Smith had just stopped at 2. Clerks 2 wrapped things up nicely. I was up for seeing Dante and Randal one last time, but this movie was such a disappointment that yeah I wish it had stopped at 2.
shareI'll probably watch this, but after reading the spoilers I lost all interest. Clerks 2 was far from a perfect film, but it really stuck the ending for the whole ViewAskeniverse.
shareI've never considered the first Clerks to even be a real movie. It's more like a pop culture experiment. Experimental art movie maybe. One I really enjoy but it really did function more as a meditation on the times it was made in. Never thought any of the characters worked outside of the mid 90s setting.

The way you feel about the original (you can bet many on this hating site are with you on this overall), many evidently feel the exact opposite. What they be smoking? Idk, but it seems to bring folks joy and I say good for them. The audacity.
Btw, the title of most overrated goes to… some cheesy ass 80’s comedy (not including some oh-so-badass action flicks that are unintentionally hilarious as hell and actually taken super seriously by apparently hardcore old bros), or some beloved hokey rom-com (think of your Annie Halls and Love Actuallys), or a dated and not-so-hardcore Mel Brooks flick. *gasps* Or simply, other popular comedies that aren’t Clerks (Clerks earned its reputation). ;)
