Who else thought that Rambo would get out of that mob jam in Mexico? (Spoilers)

I was surprised by that scene where Rambo got hounded and cornered by the mexican mob. I thought that he would either run away from them or just open a can of whoop ass and lay it down to them. But they decided to go for a more realistic approach. I guess it made movie work better this way. Though it sucked seeing Rambo getting all beaten up like that without even throwing a punch at them.

It was kinda pointless... He would've gotten MUCH more than an ass kicking by the beans, but in the scene's defense the guy was pretty cold blooded, saying he's gonna let him live so that all he can think about is his (in his mind, daughter) being whored out until he kills himself.

reply

It was the most idiotic thing I've witnessed on screen.

They LET HIM LIVE!?

It was more stupid because this battle-hardened veteran who's been in so many impossible "zero odds" situations wouldn't be caught with his pants down while on a rescue mission.

it was very weak.

You think that was more realistic? Realistic would be Rambo getting slowly chopped to pieces for fun.

It wasn't realistic because it was completely out of character for him to put himself in that situation in the first place. Rambo uses stealth, planning, tactics; he doesn't just blindly walk into a dozens-against-one situation.

This bothered me the most, its like he wanted to die or something.

That was not rambo. Fake news! Rambo was no where in this movie.

I was one who thought he was gonna open up a can, and make his way out of that situation.

Rambo has been damaged, beaten and captured before in some of the previous films. Also don't forget Rambo is now 71 or 72 In this film. So he has most definitely lost a few steps. 1980's Rambo would have easily escaped or killed a few in short order. I had no issues with this scene....
