there have always been great black leads in movies. before the woke era, they got these roles because they were highly charismatic actors who got a great role. nowadays, they're chosen because they're black or female and they got a contrived story to shoehorn their demographic in there. to rebut your question specifically, if the majority of productions coming out were not black or female lead, this would be fine. fact is, 90% of them are such and they're shoehorned and contrived. a popular story type right now is white female lead with incompetent black male companion. that's a contrived story. nobody asked for that shit and nobody would set out to write so many stories like that. yet here we are.

i mostly agree with you and i did mean that in my original statement. however, diversity actually is a problem because 90% of the stories now are it. it's targeting a demographic that isnt even the majority of america. yes, if the stories were extremely good and we had black or female leads, it would still be a good movie. however, can they ever write a good movie where the female hero has no weakness? ripley in alien is good but she was a scared woman. they refuse to write female characters like that now. at the same time, if like 50% of all the movies coming out were ripley from alien, i would hate it too. fact is, woke shit is going wayyyyy overboard. so any way you slice it, it's annoying and sucks.
