Rabid fandom

Is a sickness. Quantrell beats him up and he refuses to sue and stays a fan. There is a guy on the Kobe Bryant forum on this very site defending all his flaws and attacking anyone that does not bow to Saint Kobe. People like this do exist and it's scary.

It's due to low self-esteem and feeling like a loser for not being in sports which gets too much praise in the US.

I don't like watching sports because I do not care. You aren't watching anything. There is nothing to learn and no message. However, I love athletics and have been working and doing lots of physical things for over 30 years. I have gone to the gym almost daily for over 30 years.

Meanwhile, I have never watched a full sporting event on TV.

If you look at sports fans, they sit there and watch other men exercise, eat massive food, drink alcohol, they WEAR CLOTHES WITH OTHER MEN'S NAMES ON THEM, and they call the team "their team", but they never exercise. They do not want to be like these people they idolize but instead a fat blob.

Somehow, their focus on sports has robbed them of their self-esteem and pride. So, they get vicarious thrills through these strangers. It's pathetic.
