Part/line you laughed most at?

First off I loved this movie so much - I'm not even sure why but it was one of the funnier movies I've seen in a while.

The part I laughed hardest at was when Ethan (Galifianakas) walks up to the pickup truck after RDJ calls him over post-ranting on him and trying to leave with Jamie Foxx.

Ethan goes, "Are you ready to apologize yet?"
RDJ "WHAT? *beep* YOU!"

The way he delivered that line was so friggen hilarious idk why I lost it.

Punching the kid!

Mal: Looks can be deceiving.
Jayne: Not as deceiving as a lowdown dirty ... deceiver.

OP, I loved that line.

The problem I had was that the big belly laughs were in the trailers, but the dialogue and back and forth between Galifianakis and RDJ was great.

Just Galifianakis' face getting out of the car in the beginning got a big laugh in my theater.

"You fvcking hick"

"I'm gonna go hang out with my fvcking boys at chilis"

"Are you a girl or something?"

My favorite part was when Ethan is doing the first scene of The Godfather for Heidi and Barry, and when he finishes, Barry asks "Did you write that?"

Being inconsistent is better than being consistently bad.

reply

Definitely the kid getting punched. I thought Peter was gonna spank him over his knee but instead he just grabs the kid's shoulder and BAM

reply

The stomach punch of kid and the other one was when Zac was in back cab of truck being bounced around. The movie itself like all said is rip off of planes trains automobiles and not nearly as good. It got old after awhile with not as good as cast as previous mentioned movie.

reply

no one cares. stfu.

reply

When he spit on the dog - I nearly wet my pants.

That - and Ethan putting his bare feet on the dash while...enjoying himself in the car.

reply

Yup! Best part in the movie! haha

That, too, was funny. I can't even pick just one.

Just one of many...

Peter - "Are you an adult?"
Ethan - "Of course I'm an adult. I'm 23 years old."
Peter - "You are the most shot-out 23-year-old I've ever seen...how have you made it this far? How have you not run yourself over with a car or something?"
Ethan - "I've done that."

LMAO!!!

reply

"You know how people say 'I bet you that guy could sleep through an earthquake'? Well, I slept through an actual earthquake. I also fell asleep during a job interview...at Bank Of America."

reply

Lonnie: "You know where I was when my daughter was born?"
Peter: "Chili's?"

I laugh every time I think about that line....

reply

I nearly cried with laughter when RDJ and Jaime Foxx went over the pothole and made Ethen pop up in the air.

"What are you some kind of half-assed astronaut?" - 'Quint' in JAWS

I thought it was hilarious when RDJ was explaining to JF (in the truck after the "rescue") how much of a pain the guy in the back of the truck is and then they purposely hit some irrigation ditche that catapault the offending personality in the back, and then did it again. I wouldn't do that , but in a comedy "fantasy" I thought it was hilarious to see the tag team abuse humor . I was rolling on the floor.

It was also pretty funny when Zach got RDJ stoned and he was seeing trails hallucinations and his personality changed.

I love the part where they drink the 'coffee' and then realise what it actually is. And then Ethan takes another sip and it's a good few beats before he realises and his reaction - priceless!

I just loved the whole film though. Haven't laughed so much in a movie for such a long time!

*knocks on door* I know you're in there, I can hear you caring!

reply

i think Zack Galifianakis is a keeper in comedy. 2 thumbs up when he "acted" the divorce scene...

reply

Agreed, the coffee bit was just too priceless. "Oh my god, I'm so stupid!"

reply

"My father loved jazz. And women's t!itties"

reply

That was hilarious. Also:

- Peter's reaction when Lonnie said he was closing up because he had a reservation at Chili's.

- When the car flipped off the bridge and we see a mid-air shot of Peter in the car yelling while stuff inside the car was flying around. (Plus the fact that, after the accident, Ethan can out unscathed).

- I thought the kid being punched was funny. It felt like Todd Phillips was giving the finger to the conventional way that scenario plays out in other films.

- How Peter always says "That's incorrect" as if he's a deadpan game show host.

-"We shouldn't have come here. I'm allergic to waffles." RDJ's expression is priceless.

- When Ethan was putting his baggage up on the plane while being to close to Peter. Again, RDJ's stone-faced reaction is very funny.

- After they exit the Waffle House, when Ethan's outfit is fully revealed.

- Ethan accidentally shooting Peter. I laughed HARD.

There's more, but I'm leaving it at that.

Just saw this movie tonight.. my friend and I couldnt stop geeking out, even in the scenes that were supposed to be serious-ish. But I cracked up in the beginning when Ethan pulled up in the rental car to give RDJ a ride and then did the drive away and just started laughing and went "JK. LOL. HI (Hop in)." That got me. Also, I cracked up when they were at the border of Mexico and Ethan goes "Oh shoot, I thought I was going to Texico...we're almost out of gas". The whole movie was quite funny! :)

reply

I laughed so hard when Ethan said "JK. LOL." :)

reply

In my opinion that scene at the truck was the funniest part of the entire movie second place was when he punched the child, that was amazing...

reply

I gotta go with the 3 guys drinking the "coffee." I laughed so hard I cried at that scene. I was still laughing when Ethan went to the coffee grinder to get the "grounds" out!

reply

When he spat at the glass. That was hilarious i thought. Just the fact that now he has to clean it.
