I saw this last night and as a Snyder hater I thought I was going to trash this movie, but I liked it way more than I expected. I started watching this late and thought I was going to start dozing off, but I was actually into it and it didn't really feel like 4 hours.
As someone who hates most Marvel films as well as hating the original Justice League, Batman v Superman, (and not even caring enough to watch Aquaman), I had a more enjoyable time watching this than any Avengers film. The cinematography was better, the CGI was better (still not great), the storyline wasn't as convoluted, the performances were better, the maturity and the overall feeling of a cinematic experience was felt here.
Avengers: Endgame was 3 hours and it felt longer than this 4 hour movie Justice League film. Avengers is just a popcorn film designed for children.

They're catering for children. No blood, no guts, no profanity, cartoon violence. Even Kevin Feige says other than Deadpool 3, they have no interest on doing a rated R movie. They're going out of their way to avoid an R rating.
You're really counting a little blood on the face? It even cut away from the blood when Thanos' head got chopped off. I'm talking about actual blood. On screen character being cut or impaled and with blood squirting out.

It doesn't have any attributes to be considered an adult movie. The subject matter isn't even for mature audiences. Even the tone is child-like.

Because the example you gave are take examples. Blood is someone's face doesn't mean it's bloody. When Thanos gets his head chopped off, you don't see a single drop of blood exit. It cuts to Nebula with a little bit of blood on her face.
The movie as a whole is more mature, not the story. The darker colours, the lack of one-liners said by every character, the swearing. Even the fact that Avengers is more "in your face" with the action. None of the film's in that series took time to tell a story. They went for the action right away. Kids don't want to wait around for a story. They want the goods right away.
As I said before, they take time to tell their story. They flesh out the characters and don't go straight to the action. We know their backstories and their families and spend quite a bit of time on every single one of them.
In Endgame (and other Avengers films for that matter), the dramatic scenes are shorter and are played off more comedically. Avengers relies on phases as their way of sprinkling a back story in between numerous action films. The phases themselves don't even make sense. When they got the rights for Spiderman, suddenly he became part of their plan. Marvel films are generally built for kids because their attention spans are shorter.
Endgame was three hours, so one hour shorter than the Snyder Cut. And since the character development has been going on for multiple movies at that point, I'm curious to know who you think someone like Tony Stark wasn't as fleshed out as someone like Cyborg who has only appeared in one movie (his cameo in BvS not withstanding).
As for the dramatic scenes, I'm thinking about the scene in Endgame where Cap leads a therapy group and one man explains trying to go on a date and breaking down into tears. You say that such scenes are meant for children and are undercut by comedy. Could you explain what was funny about this scene and how it was aimed at children?

With Avengers, most of the main characters had at stand alone films but they didn't delve far enough into their history. They focussed on the action. The tesseract has jumped around various films in the series and I know more about that than the characters themselves. Black Widow didn't have her own movie beforehand. The individual characters from Guardians of the Galaxy didn't have their own film, they had one as a group. Hawkeye didn't have his own film. War Machine didn't have his own film. Falcon didn't have his own movie. Scarlet Witch didn't have her own movie. That's 10+ characters that were crammed into the series that didn't have their own films. They just try to fit as many characters in the films so hardcore fans have something to get hard over, but the story expansion comes second.
As Martin Scorse said: it's not cinema. They're theme park rides. (I think he's being harsh not acknowledging them as cinema)

Tony Stark is actually one of the few who is fleshed out.
I can't respond to the therapy session scene because I don't recall it. It spans multiple films. It would need to be more than just a scene to show its maturity.
I'm surprised you don't remember the therapy session from Endgame since it was in the trailers and was highly acclaimed, especially since that scene showed the first openly LGBTQ+ character in the MCU movies.
If you think Tony was fleshed out, then let's compare Captain America to Cyborg.
I haven't seen Captain America's solo films. Outside of Avengers, I've seen the solo movies of: the first Thor, both Spider-Man films, Captain Marvel, Hulk, the first Ant Man. I also saw the first Guardians of the Galaxy. I might be forgetting something.
I mean, it's not like I've seen them a bunch of times to remember every little plot detail. The only one I've seen more than once is Iron Man. It's really the only one that deserves it. I even like it better than Justice League.
There is a reason why Scorsese, Coppola and Ken Loach criticize these films. They're aware that these films aim low. Kevin Feige knows what sells and that's to do the same formula over and over again. These films are nothing more than trading cards. They expect you to collect them all and claim that it's all part of their plan.
Dude you are not even making sense anymore... i didnt know movies were only meant for Scorsese, Coppola and Ken. F**k the audience. Stop being pretentious and just enjoy the movies. The dark knight did not have any blood, gore, swear words and not even close to the avengers movies in terms of violence but its still a great movie meant for both children and adults and guess what? its still a mature movie.
Avengers isnt for children , its universal , do you think Thanos getting is head chopped off is for children ? Its just as graphic as Justice League in that respect.
That exactly why I'm glad that DC isn't owned by Disney, there are too many restrictions cause it's a well known fact that Disney absolutely prides it's self for being a family friendly company and will go great lengths to protect it's reputation. Thankfully WB doesn't have those restrictions, cause I would love to see a solo Lobo movie and his character is hard to mess up if you don't have too many restrictions, in fact there was some consideration doing a solo Lobo movie which I think Jason Momoa would be great for the part, so here's hoping.
Disney does it to themselves. They limit their own movies so that it could appeal to a wider audience. Also it's made worse by the fact they want to have a cinematic universe. You can't have an R-rated Iron Man, PG Hulk, PG-13 Avengers, R Captain Marvel. It would be too inconsistent for them.
It's a shame you're obsessed with a franchise that is owned by a company that started out with movies about princesses in pretty pink dresses, how very macho, HA!HA!HA
Just curious for the record how many rated R Star Wars are there, huh?
LOL! For someone who prides themselves in enjoying "adult entertainment" you sure do lose your shit alot whenever anyone talks shit about a franchise that is now owned by the house of mice, princesses, and fairytales...oh how it must kill you on the inside every time to think about that, and even more so with the fact that there is an other franchise with very similar ratings to Star Wars that also has mature themes and is just as successful...that being Harry Potter, with chopped hands, slit throats, and
a bloody Voldemort fetus, yup Harry Potter can certainly hold it's own against Star Wars.
So you go ahead and enjoy your little Kiddie Wars franchise, while I look to Mortal Kombat 2021, which by the way aside from that abomination MK: Annihilation is the best franchise in existence, vastly superior to both Marvel and Star Wars in just about everyway, FLAWLESS VICTORY FUCKER!
Sorry, did you just say Mortal Kombat is the best franchise in existence and superior to Star Wars ?
Mother of God you truly are deluded
Disney + is smashing it out of the park , Black Widow, Loki , The Eternals, Wanda Vision , Falson and Winter Soldier , Free Guy, Shang Chi, The Last Duel , Hawkeye , Book of Boba Fett , Mandalorian, but go ahead, you enjoy, checks notes, Mortal Kombat
I didn't compare it to other DC films. I'm comparing Justice League to the Avengers movies. Avengers are movies geared toward children. Even furiousstyles above said that the films were "universal". That's means anyone can love them. Avengers movies are like Pixar films. They're made mostly for young people but adults can like them too.
Is a man decapitating someone's head aimed at children ? is someone's arm getting chopped off aimed at children ? how about genocide? nope didn't think so , so Avengers is not aimed at children considering they contain all the above elements.
Aquaman = PG-13
Wonder Woman = PG-13
Shazam = PG-13
WW84 - PG13
Dark Knight Trilogy = PG-13 (I thought that was the ultimate adult superhero movie)
So why is the CGI viloence in these PG-13 movies more mature than the violence in Marvel PG-13 movies.
Snyder Cut has about 2-3 scenes of "CGI" blood that if removed you woudn't have even noticed. All major battle scenes are PG-13 violence. Their is 2 maybe 3 f-bombs (I'll be honest I can't remember) just to push an R-Rating. Again if you took them out you wouldn't have even noticed.
Always remember in todays ratings you can have 1 F-Bomb and keep your PG-13 rating but have 2 or 3 and it becomes R rated. SO you are basically saying that a movie that has 2 F-bombs is more mature than a film with one.
On a personal note neither Marvel or DC movies are mature. No superhero movies are. They can have mature themes but in the end they are aimed for all audiences.
Go back to the 80's and PG movies (not pg-13) had swearing, nudity, blood and violence so please don't tell me that Snyder Cut is mature and Marvel isn't. It is a stupid arguement. We get it you don't like Marvel.
The topic is why I liked Justice League better than the Avengers, not why Aquaman is better than Avengers.
I never asked if it was better and you know that. I asked why in all those DC movies that are rated PG-13 are more mature than the Marvel movies that are rated PG-13.
But as I said, the MPAA rating had to disclose that it was sci-fi violence
Hmmm. Why could that be. Use your brain for 1 sec and figure out why. He is a clue. Having a higer rating would hurt the box office so by having a different interpretation in the rating desciption then the overall rating comes down.
Their is nothing in the Snyder that if removed would affect the movie. The blood scenes and f-bombs are only there to get an R rating, that is it. The film is not a r rated film no matter what it says.
By your very definition would you class Harley Quinn as a mature movie, that also has an R rating. That is about as kiddie as you can get. My good even the weapons she uses is not to show any blood but still got an R rating.
Putting blood and swear words into a movie does not make it mature and adult.

Okay, but I never said DC films were more mature, only Justice League.

The MPAA decides the rating, not the makers of the film. You really think the MPAA have some agenda against Avengers? If anything, lowering the rating would help the Avengers. Having a 4 hour rated R Justice League would hurt any box office.

Explain to me how Birds of Prey is about as "kiddie as it gets". Is that more "kiddie" as The Lion King? Wall-E? Toy Story? Ninja Turtles?
My good even the weapons she uses is not to show any blood but still got an R rating.
MPAA rating for Birds of Prey: "Rated R for strong violence and language throughout, and some sexual and drug material"
In fact, Birds of Prey is the only DC or Marvel film that has a "severe violence" rating on IMDb.

Do you take all your thoughts on movies from IMDB?
If that is the case that is your first mistake.. Here is an idea. Make up your own mind, just a thought.
The site of blood does not make a movie mature and bad language does not make a movie mature. Adult themed maybe but not mature. Deadpool is definately not mature, it is adult themed but not mature.
Beastmaster is a PG movie which has blood, lots of it, frontal nudity, tons of violence and that isn't mature. That was classed as a family film. Seriously a PG movie from 1982 has way worse stuff and that was classed as a family movie, my dad rented that when it came out for us all to watch. I was 10 when I saw that.
I'm gonna end this as it isn't going anywhere. If you think the Snyder Cut is mature because you believe that Marvel is for kids then you need to rethink what your definition of mature is. But tagain that is your choice.
Goodfellas, schindlers list, godfather is mature. Predator, aliens, terminator are adult themed. Their is a difference.
It seemed rushed and forgettable. Cyborg felt like he was just thrown into it. I recall the CGI also being bad. This isn't the best comic book movie ever, but I actually thought this was far superior than the previous cut
Why it might be better than the original cut. I still think its pretty mah, boring and like all Snyder films its got tons of boring melodrama and mind-numbing boring fight scenes. While i wouldn't call the Avengers movies masterpieces. They are a lot more fun to watch and i care a lot more about the characters. Also Thanos is a better villian than the Steppenwolf. Not everything needs to be some dark emo bullshit.
