As long as we continue to bitch about rage bait such as this film, Hollywood will keep doing this.
It’s pretty clear that these remakes are intentionally designed to piss people off, which gets them talking, which in turn makes people want to see what the fuss is about, so they see the movie. I mean look at what HBO is doing with Velma from Scooby Doo. The question is: why do we continue to fall for it? If the public stops giving these shit shows the attention that the producers want them to, the marketing strategy will shift.
