I am not too sure about this one...

Producers say "Oh, look! A Quiet Place 1 and 2 made us a LOT of money! Let's do another one. Let's make it before the first two, make it more diverse and leave Krasinski and Blunt out of it!"
IMHO, the reason the first two worked was the suspense that was built up. The tension, especially in the first one, was palpable. Most of the film was quiet and calm, with that underlying sense of dread for any noise made, with sudden jarring moments of violence. Less is more in this case.
This one looks like a standard noisy "cars-crashing-and-explosions" type film.
I will probably see it, though I am not holding out hope that it will be as good as the first two.

The director did 'PIG' which was supposed to be good from what I heard. But a low-key indie flick is a different animal from this kind of genre.

There are limits as to how far this concept can be taken.

I definitely agree. To me, it is a unique premise but very limited. But the powers that be in Hollywood see dollar signs, so they will milk this cash cow for all it's worth and will probably lessen its power to entertain us.
We shall see soon.

It's from the guy who made Pig, which is a plus, but the movie itself doesn't try to be much more than your standard alien invasion movie. Some suspenseful sequences, but the rest falls flat.

If anyone's interested, I reviewed the movie on my youtube channel. Appreciate any feedback. Trying to improve -https://youtu.be/VOXi0nXPO6w

Respectfully, I differ on this opinion. (Spoilers). It's actually a rather beautiful and touching film. It really outclasses the standard alien invasion fare. For starters, Lupita Nyongo is wonderful in this. She has to do quite a bit of acting and emoting through subtlties with her face, expressions and body. And what a presence she has. You can't take your eyes off her.

And the story is bitter sweet. To summarize it in just a sentence or two....the guy she befriends (Eric) saves her in a very profound way. And she saves him in an incredibly selfless and touching way.

The marionette scene was beautiful and poignant. And the card trick scene, done in complete silence…just really great stuff. Even just the gesture of Eric getting Sam that pizza, and what he wrote on it…this movie has some magic moments. It was FAR from a typical, cookie-cutter alien invasion flick. It almost has kind of an art house feel to it. Seeing Sam smile for the first time…that alone is something special.

This is a movie that definitely needs to be seen in a darkened movie house (NOT at home in your basement). This should be a shared experience with others, and on the big screen, with Dolby sound. And, it's a movie that will stay with you a while.

to be totally honest, I felt like it was hard to even make out what these two were saying some of the time. I don't know if I saw it in a bad theater with terrible sound or what but I felt like this movie required subtitles
