whether based on an old TV show or not, the plot of this thing just seems like it was cut and pasted together to the point of incoherence. I think people were able to see it was a dumb concept even from the trailers. Now, you can say that the screenplay doesn't matter, leave your brain at the door, and enjoy the action but I don't think that should be an end all be all as far as selling something to an audience. This feels like something you can get at home now. The theater needs more reason and purpose, and this just didn't have much.

Yup, it sucked. It isn't clever, it isn't funny, even the action is goofy, and watching Gosling and Blunt say this dialogue is embarrassing. This was a terrible, incoherent script and I think most people were able to see that just from the story presented in the trailer. I have no idea why so many critics gushed over this thing and I hope its failure at the box office is a lesson that such lazy, innocuous work isn't going to bring people to the theater no matter how much you spice up a trailer.

I think the lead here is going to wind up being a descendant of Caesar, and just seeing a woman on the poster isn't enough to scare me.
I wouldn't lay the problem at the feet of either Gosling or Blunt. If there is a problem here at all its the absurd price tag many of the these movies carry and the increasing uphill climb they have to make to be profitable, even when there are so many other things discouraging people from going to the movies unfortunately.

I was very underwhelmed. Really too long, the romance was mostly irritating, and the action not enough to sustain it.

yup, i'm in the minority apparently.

pretty much, probably fine for kids. unless you really liked animals flicks and can take a lot of saccharine stuff, animals might find themselves losing interest quick
