No background story scene for Richie???

This is something i did not even think about until several hours after watching the movie. You know how each kid had a scene alone away from the others with their own experience that established their character or own personal fear? How come we did not see one with Richie? I remember looking at an interview on YouTube with all the kids and each kid described their character with a little background. Finn said Richie had an alcoholic mother and that he found humor helped him. Wow they missed a good opportunity by not showing a little of that with a scene. In am sure we will see Richie stuff in the next movie but surprised we did not get a background scene of him like all the other characters.

Mike was even worse. They gave his character traits to Ben, and didn't replace them with anything. He's almost like a. Extra that only stands out because he's black. Plus since they removed the racial element from the story there really isn't a reason for him to be black.

It's going to be entertaining to see how they handle the adult portion since Mike was supposed to be the nerdy character who stayed behind in Derry while Ben became a successful architect in Chicago (?)
Hmmm

I feel like most of the characters had little to no backstory or development, except maybe Beverly Marsh. This movie was very Beverly Marsh-heavy - but even then, a lot of her scenes were the boys/men ogling her rather than her actually being a character.
