Overated?

Apart of some great acting there is not much to watch here. Hugh is this clever mastermind but doesn't realize when his GF hands the code right in front of him?

The other women starts spilling the secret because her husband is cheating on him?

Watched three episodes back to back and really not much that's really interesting.

I just watched it for the 2nd time. Thought it was brilliant.

It is and Tom qualified for his award.

It's wrought from excellent material. It is relevant. It is brilliantly executed, pun intended.

What I have learned to do on IMDb is to ignore troll threads with negative titles even if I want to 'set them straight' I refuse to feed the trolls who started it for attention.

It's alright. Solid 7/10. Quite a few cheapened plot points I'm sure we're abbreviated compared to the book.

reply

After hearing all the rave reviews about it, I was pretty Meh on the whole experience after watching every episode. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't a bad show overall, but there was a lot of filler that I think could have been cut and shortened without actually affecting anything.

I dunno why Jed suddenly had a problem with what Roper was doing as soon as Pine entered the picture. It's not like that was the first time Roper was ever selling arms but apparently she was suddenly against it.

reply

I think Jed was unhappy before Pine came onto the scene. There is a scene where she is crying and talking on the phone to her mother or somebody and you hear her say I'll call you, don't call me. She wipes down her tears and brushes herself off and to me this shows she is putting on a happy front.

She was unhappy because her mother or sister (not sure who) didn't approve of her relationship and called her a prostitute. Also, her son was being raised by her sister. I don't think he knew she was his mother. She had him quite young at 17. We don't really get the story as to why Jed left home in the first place, presumably to be a jet-setter and live the so-called good life with a wealthy man.

And all the pieces matter (The Wire)

reply

I haven't seen one episode! It really didn't peak my interest at all! Sorry! I'd rather have a small person kick me repeatedly in the coccyx while I read Catcher in the Rye.

reply

O_o How the *beep* did you end up here, then? Did the show decapitate your grandmother or something?

reply

Definitely overated. Just a naive little thriller with great camera and great Laurie.

Yup overrated for sure

reply

Overeaten is the correct form.

reply

Was a good, but not outstanding show, so yes, overrated it might be. What I did not like was the fifth episode. That "war show" with blowing up tanks and using bombers and destroying a whole village was the most ridiculous thing in the show. Even if they bribed some guys, and even in this *beep* up world, there are hardly any states who would let that happen on their ground.

Syria...

reply

It was still in Turkey, they wanted to deliver the weapons to Syria the next day.
