These 'chosen ones' should never be 'infield' ever + more

So there is a only a handful of people that have this special 'ability' to be transported back to first july of last year whenever the world explodes.
So they are the only thing that secures the human race from extinction events all the time. With their knowledge of the future year and being able to keep that knowledge in their head when they travel back..

And they send these people into firefights all the time?!
Doesn't make sense, does it? When rightfully they should just send in local special forces and stuff.

Hell, they should be in a secure complex and have bodyguards when going out

Also if one of their team members dies it would make sense for them to re-set the time also. Because why not just try again without losing one of their precious members? Would also be great for morale..
I guess they don't wanna 'turn back time' just for one death.

I guess this all makes more sense if these peope are easily replaced, which could be - they talk about most of them being made artificially somehow.

And of course it makes sense dramatically that the main characters are out in firefights.
