it was too long. Unless you were really into Indiana Jones you would have gotten bored.

It was a combination of things but Harrison Ford was indeed too old for the part and I think that's where things started. Another big factor was Crystal Skull which I absolutely hated for similar reasons that RedLetterMedia pointed out in their review and took away all my enthusiasm for the franchise. They tried to do a "handing off the torch" in Skull unsuccessfully with Mutt who thankfully does not reappear here. Did they learn their lesson though? No. They stuck to the same theme of trying to make Indy make way for some younger, smarter, more adept character with Phoebe Waller Bridge, and then made here even more smarmy and abrasive than Mutt was. She completely sank every scene she was in. Kathleen Kennedy seems to love characters like her and had the film paint her in an even more positive light than Mutt in Skull.

It didn't help that the surrounding story was completely silly and lackluster. I pretty much only perked up for the first 10 and last 10 minutes. Everything in between was stupid and dull. The first 10 minutes was over the top but felt more like the first 3 movies and showcased some new technology with face-replacement, so there was something to marvel at. The last 10 minute was so deliriously stupid that I couldn't take my eyes off of it akin to watching a trainwreck. I kind of wished that the whole movie had been like the last 10 minutes in that it would have been entertaining.

The PWB character was pretty bad , didn't need to be had they not got an obviously woke/feminist type actress approved by KK. Some obvious eye candy like Haylee Atwell, Felicity Jones would've probably worked better even with all the trying to show Indy up stuff.. (the concept art for Spielberg's version of Indy 5 had what looks to be Felicity Jones or Ana de Armes as Indys Lara Croft like sidekick)

I liked the concept of the Dial and the opening and climax were fun, but there middle seemed to need something more, I was half expecting some stuff to do with the Nazi Bell (Die Glocke) like Vollers other attempts to time travel before he focusing completely on the Dial
