Negan Never Made Sense

People just falling to their knees and obeying him.

Letting him bone their wives? Just going along with it?

Refusing to escape, move on?

Just nonsense.

reply

You don’t see any parallels to that in history?

You’ve never heard of the Waco, Texas cult? How about Jonestown?

People are nuts, and they will buy into damn near anything. That Waco cult leader said he was the only one pure enough to sleep with the women, so he had sex with all of the wives.

Crazier things have happened in real life than Negan and The Saviors in The Walking Dead. Haha.

reply

But that's my problem. It is never presented as that. It's presented as people all hating him and having independent thought right from the start.

Real cults are subversive and subtle. But Negan just demands subservience and gets it (from people who really don't like him).

reply

It starts off subversive and subtle, then they gain loyal followers and power. We meet Negan at the height of his power when disloyal people are brutally killed, therefore they silently go along.

Furthermore, you can witness Negan's psychological manipulation with Carl and Eugene.

reply

Yes, two more people... it doesn't work on.

Negan is the only good part of the show that's left. But he's gone a bit soft tbh. Maggie needs to kill Negan's love interest as retribution. Negan will likely go back to his old ways after that. That would be a sweet ending to this abysmal show.

reply

TWD Spin-off "Dead City" Negan and Maggie together in NYC. Gee, I hope nothing bad happens to his pregnant wife.
