Hopefully. It was a waste of resources.

They just signed Florence Pugh to a role in the movie.

Apparently not. Greenlit and due to start filming July 2022 for release December 2023. There is even mention of a third film for the second book in the series.
But it seems silly, or cowardly, that there is such a big gap - they should have shot the two films back to back.

The first one also pissed off a lot of people because they marketed it as some big Zendaya movie and she didn't show up until the movie was almost over. Who knows if she will even be that popular by the time they get the part of the movie where she shows up a bit more. Though from what I recalled from the books she was never a character that would be getting much time on screen.

The producers of this movie can prolong her popularity, by giving her a full-frontal bath scene in Dune Part Deux

I don't think so. The first movie got a bunch of Oscar nominations and even won a few.

reply

No. It got good reviews, had solid numbers, and Oscar nominations. Confirmed to be released sometime next year I believe.
