it's yet another strong female lead incompetent male movie but this one did it kinda well. i enjoyed most of it. i just wish they made her crime journey longer and she grew her scam even more. instead it ended kind of abruptly after the hit on yousef's cousin. also should've given her a gun instead of a taser. her winning engagements with just the taser was so stupid.

ETC is a well written, competently crafted film and shouldn’t be lumped anywhere near the dumpster fire that is the woke film genre.
And as for the taser, it was more than adequate, they will fuck you up, regardless of size, strength, pain tolerance and I’m tired of seeing guns used as a measure of necessity when committing crimes or even in self defense, it’s tired, lazy and boring.
except tasers don't knock you unconscious which it did in this movie. in case there's ambiguity here, it knocked the crackhead unconscious in his car.
also it is definitely a woke movie because the male is incompetent yet again. that's the point, it did well for a woke movie. the strong female lead movies you're thinking of is where there are competent men but the female is just more competent like alien or terminator 2.
Having a strong female lead and an incompetent male does not equate to wokeness. Emily was just on her own as many people are in this world and part of the story was her discovering that and how many times have you been let down by someone or been disappointed by someone you thought was going the distance for you?
Woke films are agenda focused propaganda pieces, ETC is not that.
And pending on the voltage and if hit in the neck or head, yes, tasers can knock you unconscious.
a strong female lead and incompetent male doesnt make it woke if we were in 1990 and it was one of the only movies to do it. now, almost every movie is doing it and so yes, that does make it woke. it's not by accident that they wrote it that way. it's part of the trend and the agenda, it just so happens that this one was good for once.
