Having a strong female lead and an incompetent male does not equate to wokeness. Emily was just on her own as many people are in this world and part of the story was her discovering that and how many times have you been let down by someone or been disappointed by someone you thought was going the distance for you?
Woke films are agenda focused propaganda pieces, ETC is not that.
And pending on the voltage and if hit in the neck or head, yes, tasers can knock you unconscious.
“Just as big a POS as many of the other characters in the film,” how do you figure that? Yes she cheated on her boyfriend, and this is both wrong as well as shitty but to fair her boyfriend was a lying, manipulative, control freak, and was most likely a psychotic sociopath, who btw was unable to please her emotionally as well as physically.
So she let her guard down and ended up fucking Billy, at least she owned it and told Billy that it was over instead of perpetuating the affair with more lies and deceit.
imo I don’t think it’s appropriate to lump her in with everyone else in the film who rubbed you the wrong way.
imo Emily The Criminal is an exception to the rule, not a borderline, “did it kinda well,” female lead focused type film, you can’t have your cake…..
ETC is a well written, competently crafted film and shouldn’t be lumped anywhere near the dumpster fire that is the woke film genre.
And as for the taser, it was more than adequate, they will fuck you up, regardless of size, strength, pain tolerance and I’m tired of seeing guns used as a measure of necessity when committing crimes or even in self defense, it’s tired, lazy and boring.
Yes but only people who find Bugs Bunny attractive when he puts on a dress and plays a girl bunny.
Cool story and not the sarcastic meaning, I would love to take my nephews to see this on the big screen.
