How is this a 6.8?!?

This movie is TERRIFYING I don't understand the average score. Fantastic film. Anyone that didn't enjoy it?

Really, a 6.8 is a pretty damn good score.

Problem is, there's so many fanboys and trolls on IMDB that label every single movie a 1 or a 10 instead of actually doing a good review.

Was this movie one of the best I've ever seen? (Like say, The Exorsist which has a 7.8 right now) of course not.

Was it way above average of the typical horror slop? Yes. And that's what I rated it, a 7/10. So many people have gotten used to the 1 star or 10 star that they forget that 5 stars means the movie is average, 6 stars means it's good, 7 stars means it's DAMN good, and 8+ stars (which is extremely rare on IMDB) means masterpiece.

So yeah, basically 7 stars? that's where this movie falls, as in it was a damn good scary movie. You just have to ignore the IMDB mentality of "WORST / BEST film ever" because there's no such thing in this world. I personally thought it would end up settling around a 7.1, but 6.8 isn't a bad score. The 52 metacritic actually surprises me more than IMDB's stupid scoring scale (basically, for your vote to count, there's a ton of critera's that you need to meet. So all of those 1's and 10's are usually tossed , and only people that count are ones that have proven to be actual reviewers and judge movies by more than "IT SUCKS" OR IT"S AWESOME!

However, really, again 6.8 is really good for a somewhat generic, but extremely well paced and written horror movie. But wondering why it's only got a 7 (rounding up), um, this isn't exactly Citizen Kane or Shawshank Redemption we're talking about.
