How did the wolves cross the river? (while the 4 guys crossed)

While the 4 guys had to build a makeshift rope using the clothes to cross the river, the wolves were already waiting for them on the other side.

How the hell did that happen !!!

* This are the rocks and the abysm
! This are trees
- This is the line they could go
ç This is where the plane crashed
? Where the wolfs probably went

So they could go on a straight line, they couldn't go back for obvious reasons, but the wolfs could obviously go true the "?".

So, the guys didn't had a map, they didn't knew.

The wolfs are obviously faster and they know Alasca and there territory far better.

Several people have posted this already, but it seems to have been lost a bit in all the quoting.

We aren't told how the wolves crossed the river. All it requires is a little imagination to show that there are highly plausible explanations.

E.g. the wolves knew the area, and knew where they can cross the river. The men didn't, so crossed it at the point they found the river, the deep ravine.

We don't need films to spell out every last detail.

BTW: Dogs/wolves can be good climbers. Witness the late Biscuit, the climbing dog. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AwUSkBKobIw (Biscuit was eaten by a mountain lion, he didn't die in a fall.)

I remember thinking, the same question.
But there was a massive cliff so it occurred to me this was a different pack of wolves.

Anyway it's Hollyweird, they write into the script whatever they want to add drama.

That was their home territory and they knew every inch of it. That cliff could have just been isolated to one area.

Those were uber-wolves with Tarzan skills. 🐺💪🏿🐺💪🏿🐺

It's a good movie, but this battle of 'men against nature' is a fairy tale for adults.
The depiction of wolves is only topped by Little Red Riding Hood. 👩‍🚒
