Looks to underperform, may result in losses for the studio

The movie had a $53 million opening day, which was far lower than expectations and currently sits at 46th biggest opening day ever. In comparison, Avengers: Endgame opened with $153 million. Estimates of a $400 million weekend have been lowered to $150 million. A recent projection sees the film making around $1.7 billion. Combined with the budgets with Avatar 3, it could result in some losses for the studio.

You're mixing worldwide estimates with domestic estimates. It wasn't lowered from 400 to 150 domestically, more like 170-180M domestic estimates were lowered.

Not only did that comment use the wrong numbers, it makes no sense. It somehow seemed to ignore the fact that Avatar 3 will ALSO sell tickets when released. LOL Despite the desperate hope of Cameron and Avatar detractors, this film will make a profit on US ticket sales alone, and international receipts will be gravy.

Idiot! The OW was known when you posted, $435m. The budget is under $400m.
