Dead Disk?

They said if they copied it, it would self destruct?
Then just hold up your damn phone to the computer monitor and record a video of it while scrolling thru everything.
Then upload that video to gdrive/icloud/dropbox and you're all backed up.

I would swear she said, "If you copy it, it will encrypt the encryption." And I was like, WTF?

reply

Double secret encryption!

reply

ENHANCE!

reply

That just means encrypting twice. Don't try to confuse people with technical jargon that doesn't mean anything.

Quantum cryptography is supposed to work this way, whenever you read the data, the information is re-encoded and you would need another password, but it's still in the theoretical stages...

From what I understand quantum cryptography mostly used on encryption of communications, using physics properties of communication link to encrypt data during transmission, not data stored on a disk.

Basics are introduced here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_5NQf8k3Jo0

To be honest calling it encryption is an exaggeration, in the example given in the video the data were not encrypted in anyway, but information will change when observed by third party. So it is just a way for the communication can't be viewed by others.

reply

Exactly, even live stream it.
