Abbey Lee as "Marigold"

I've liked her in things before (Neon Demon, Elizabeth Harvest, Old, Mad Max: Fury Road) and I thought she was very good in this.

Question about the guy she is with in the tent (the one who smacks her) - who was he? I didn't see him introduced before that scene. I did step out for 2-3 minutes for a restroom brake right when the movie was shifting to the wagon party with Luke Wilson. But were we supposed to know who that guy was to her?

Nope you didn't miss anything. This movie is disjointed mess but I enjoyed many scenes & performances and look forward to part 2.

I think he was her significant other / boyfriend and they schemed to leave off screen. Not a very nice guy it seems.

Wouldn't be surprised if Marigold finds herself knocked up, abandoned, and forced to find her way back to Hayes Ellison. Of the Abbey Lee performances I've seen this was probably her best.
