Overall good and worth watching(spoilers)

Overall this is a good movie. However, I believe it should have been a TV series. The filming even looks like a TV series. Costner tries to cram so much into it, why not spread it out and let it breath. As a film it is too long. I broke it down into two viewings (not by choice, but after the first hour I realized that it was too late to continue watching. In the first hour he could have cut the whole scene at the burned out mission and the Indian attack could have been shortened by several minutes. I also thought the the score was so overwhelming and generic in the first hour. After the first hour it does get much better. I didn't like the brothers hunting the baby. They were pure stereotypical big/littler brother bad guys. And the 5 minute montage at the end, what was that? Is this a preview of what is going to happen in the 2nd movie? if not, there are so many quick shots that it is hard to figure out what is happening to whom. If they aren't going to show these things in the 2nd film they should have made this a series so we could see it happening. If they are going to show them, why show them now?

I loved it overall. Absolutely couldn't sit through it in one sitting not because of the length but because it isn't structured like a film. I don't know if Costner even realizes he's not making movies. This is a tv series through and through, despite the amazing scenery.

I believe the montage at the end is all a teaser reel for the second film which is meant to entice viewers back to the theater for round 2. It was an interesting experiment that failed miserably. But I mean... somebody had to try it just to be sure.

If they don't end up recutting these movies into a 12 ep prestige series, some fan surely will.

I'm watching in and it's good.

If it was a TV show it would be better and I'd watch it.

I like how it's a rich portrayal of different kinds of personalities, which makes it good writing.

Whoever the writer was, they did an excellent job with characters.

On a totally juvenile note, Abbey Lee is very pretty, lol.

I'm not one to find celebs attractive, but geez!

Abby Lee is also becoming a very good actress. She gets better in each project.

This is the first time I noticed her.

Overall, I enjoyed the movie.

People complained it didn't have a lot of story but I saw the movie as being about all the different types of personalities in that setting.

Abby played a woman who was very pretty and would use her looks to manipulate anyone to her advantage. Meanwhile, there were people who were good at murdering others and they would use that to their advantage, etc.

That was the story for me.
