yup, correct. i came to this board looking for this subject. completely agreed. she is not that good of an actor. not terrible, but far from great. definitely over rated and wrongfully lauded, i don't get it. if she is a good actress i have not seen the right movie. silver linings playbook and this movie and the hunger games, the 2 former which i think she was nominated for an oscar?...? were fairly weak.. i was like 'umm huhhhh??' i heard she was supposed to have been so great... she is one of those actors that when i see them perform, there's something missing, i can see through them, i see them trying and the performance is just not quite there, you know?

and yes, by far the worst performance in this movie. that's one thing about this film, the acting is all SUPERB. except for lawrence, she is the one weak link.

the only awful actor in this was Amy Adams with her God awful attempt at a British accent. It was so bad, it took a trained ear to know when she was switching between that and her native accent.

JL was absolutely fine in the role she was given.. That's just undeserved and pre biased hate, IMO.

The movie was certainly not worthy of more than a 6 though overall, again IMO.

Good god the people on this thread are vicious. Winter's Bone FTW if you have any concerns about her talent.

She filled a much needed void in this movie.

Part of her appeal is that she's more interesting off camera than she is on. She has more facial expressions in a single interview than an entire film, and people (her fans included) just can't get over the dichotomy.

She's not attractive in any way, shape or form. Acting skills are next to zero. She has the face and attitude of a "Karen".
