"The most important movie ever"

A lot of people seem to think that. At least in the US.
Can anyone explain to me why?

reply

Yes.

So, the question is "why" and you answer is "yes"?

reply

Just a bit of word play. "Can" is ability and "Yes", I have the ability to explain to you "Why" the Black Panther movie is the most important movie ever to a lot of people who think that within the USA.

reply

Could you please do so?

reply

Because it was the first black cast MCU movie. They think that is more important than the actual quality of the film, so it gets very high praise.

I have not forgotten your rather courteous request. Here is the rub. It will require an investment in something very precious: No, not your time but your attention.

It might be a bit deeper of an explanation and answer than you might be unexpecting considering the source 🤣 and his delivery.

Not sure I agree but it's an interesting perspective and the guy is well spoken and intelligent.

The thought you posited was, "The Most important movie ever - A lot of people seem to think that. At least in the US."

To which you asked, "Can anyone explain to me why"?

I wasn't 100% on board with your "Most Important Movie Ever" attribution to a large swath of Americans. For one, the community of something called Americans is NOT monolithic in thought and neither is a large swath of African Americans or ADOS or POCs or etc monolithic in thought.

Important? Yes. MOST important? No. Not even the most important movie EVER in context to the time but Black Panther was a truly relevant movie in terms of the complexity and detail in capturing a Black-Afro-Centric-Mythological experience being brought to cinema.

So what exactly do you agree or disagree with?

reply

Because the production had a publicist who thought BIG, that's why.
