That ending made it seem like there will be a season 2

Why show Flagg alive and coming to take over that village if the shows not getting another season? If the shows done why not end it with Flagg being completely gone? why give us a cliffhanger of sorts ending?

reply

That's how the book ended.

Flagg cannot die. He is the devil.

The 2 forces at play are clear in the final episode ...

reply

Is he the devil though? i remember someone calling him Satan and he said thats not his name.

It is a shame this was only 1 season if its not getting another one, this could've definitely gotten a few seasons imo.

reply

And then he said "I have many names, I'm Legion!!!"

So maybe he was not Satan just as mother Abigail was not God.

But he was at least "a" devil/demon.

reply

Yeah, whatever he actually is i just wish we was getting another season, would love to see skarsgård do more with the character, dude didn't get enough screen time imo, would love to get a season 2 giving us more of Flagg.

Have Flagg really build an army of devoted followers, while Stu and Franny build their community in equal numbers and in the finale we just have a huge full on war with guns, swords, magic, man that'd be awesome.

Played by this bunch of actors? I'll pass. Unless it's done for comic effect. Maybe resurrect the dead people and reshuffle the teams; Glen and Trashy are now best buddies, that sort of thing.

Actually, naah, I wouldn't even watch that. But I don't think it'll happen. If the activity on this board is any indication, only about forty people in the general public watched this turkey at all.

reply

LOL as if this message board indicates the number of people that watched it, you know how many people have no clue about this message board? Ozark was a huge hit on netflix, everyone was watching it, guess what the message board for it was barely active most of the time.

reply

Yeah, I was being facetious. The activity on this board is only a tiny fraction of what IMDB's boards had, and I doubt we'll ever see anything like those boards ever again.

The activity here might be telling in another way, though. Of the people who were posting here when the miniseries began, almost all expressed disappoint and have long since faded away. To the extent that this is a sample of the public's reaction, I'm guessing the ratings went on a steep downhill ride after the first couple of episodes.

reply

I can clear that up for you: No.

You're making the classic mistake of assuming the vocal minority is in the majority.

It's a truism that message boards are more heavily populated by complainers and fault finders. Doesn't mean they reflect the opinions of the public at large.

In the final episode Mother Abigail tells Frannie, "he is his father's son" so that meant to me he is the son of satan.

reply

Nah. He's Randall Flagg/Marten/Merlyn/The Man In Black. Admittedly an archetype, but one of King's creation. And while many Wikis try to establish a throughline from The Stand to the very end of The Dark Tower, it's pretty clear King has been making it up as he goes along. Bottom line: I believe he's currently asserting that all these characters are the same dude.
